blasting off the rest of my current carry ammo at the range this week.

so after hearing of some failure to expand with corbon powerball i think i am gonna try something new.

so .40 people, what is your best recommendation? besides frangible ammo. i always have a magsafe in the tube, but i prefer traditional ammo in the magazine.

I just switched everything to Gold Dots due to it's ability to remain intact when penetrating barriers
I can get the 50 round boxes for $30.00 at SG Ammo below

Speer Gold Dot 180gr LE's for the .40's

My monthly ammo budget generally includes two 50rd boxes of GD's for each of my "carry calibers" and once every month or so I'll shoot what's loaded in the mags and reload them with the fresh rounds. The mag reloads consume one of the new boxes and the other goes into the ammo locker. The buy two, shoot one scheme builds a nice on-hand supply rather quickly ;)

I'm trying out a new box of Federal Tactical 180 grain "HST". I don't know when I'll get a chance to shoot. Soon I hope but it doesn't look that way.

No matter the caliber, no matter the gun, its Gold Dots for me. If they made a sharp pointy stick with the name Gold Dot on it, I would carry it too. That's how much I freakin' love that ammo for SD.

I carry 180gr Speer Gold Dots. But I have some extra magazines loaded with 180gr Remington Golden Saber. Both shoot fine in my pistol as I have fired them numerous times. Both are on the AR15 ammo list.

I wish I had known about the SG site a couple of weeks ago. Just bought some Gold Dot from cheaperthandirt and paid $22 for 20 rounds. Bought a couple different types of ammo to see what works best. Definitely going to SGAmmo to get my bulk purchase.

When I run out of my Cor-Bon DPX, I will be using Ranger T's in my guns. I now have a really good stock of them and the price is right compared to the DPX, plus they are street proven.
