You're making an assumption about others abilities. Many people are not overly recoil sensitive and can handle the heavier recoiling rounds with no issues whatsoever compared to the lighter rounds.
Back to the original topic, the real question is why would you consider light round that stings like a giant bee over any of the other commonly used SD rounds?
As someone already mentioned, the 327 mag round has been trying to justify it's existence since it came out. Can it be effective for home defense? Sure. But if you are going to use a gun to protect yourself you might as well go bigger for a nightstand gun. Sometimes bigger really is better. Especially if you can shoot the heavier, larger, rounds just as well as the lighter ones.
The 10mm is the better of the two options.
