I need a "gentle" round for practice with my S&W 642 (which I understand is not a lot of fun to shoot), so I can get familiar with it. Any suggestions?

I need a "gentle" round for practice with my S&W 642 (which I understand is not a lot of fun to shoot), so I can get familiar with it. Any suggestions?

Depends a bit if you reload Mike - a 38 spl soft target load with 2.7 - 2.8 grains Bullseye behind a 158 SWC is very comfortable.
Not sure whether any factory load is going to be as soft as that.
