Some think it "doesn't matter", but there are actually subtle differences in .223 cal and 5.56mm NATO---they ARE NOT one in the same, but so many use them interchangeably. As such, the answer to this poll depends on the weapon used to fire the round. I've never seen a rifle marked as chambered for ".223 or 5.56 NATO", nor will you see factory ammunition marked as both. It's one or the other.

i shoot Hornady TAP ballistic tip in 75 gr.. twist rate pretty much determins how big a bullet your gun can spin consistantly. to me, balistic tip is the way to go for home defense...but im no expert.........virg
