I highly recommend Gold Dot 124+P or the Corbon DPX line loaded with the 100% Copper Barnes X bullet. These are both excellent rounds that excel in the FBI testing protocol. Because of the Speer Uni Cor bonded bullet and the 100% Copper Barnes X bullet jacket core separation (a leading cause of bullet failures) is nonexistent. I get my Corbon from Midway USA or Cabela's and the Gold Dot's I buy in 50 round boxes from SG Ammo out of Stillwater OK.

NOTE: There is also the Corbon Thunder Ranch DPX line but as far as I can tell they are identical to the regular boxes. Are they pricey? Yes! But you get what you pay for and when it comes to my personal safety and the safety of my loved ones only the best will do.

I have a supply of Cor-Bon 115GR +P and a large supply of Ranger T in 127 Gr +P+. Both perform well in my guns. The number one thing is does this ammo shoot and function 100% in your gun. What does and what has street proven results is what you need to carry. Also remember there is no sub for Shot Placement with any brand and type of ammo. Bullets in the right places tend to do the work needed of them.

If it's good enough for tens of thousands of police officers, it's good enough for me. It's been proven to work.
Bingo! But I want to try the 147+P+ from Underwood

Handguns, Speer Gold Dot 124 grain (+P)

For my 9mm AR, 147 grain Golden Sabre, since it is suppressed I wanted subsonic, and the Golden Sabre is reasonably quiet and I got a good deal on it.

    Hornady CD 115 in the KEL TEC P11 & S&W 39-2
    Winchester 124g. PDX1
    OR GDHP 115 OR 124 g.
in the S&W Sigma and the S&W 6904
Remington Golden sabre 124 g runs alright as well in the KT and Sigma and when I had an M&P in 9.

The pic below shows the 9mm HST and a .40 Critical Duty for comparison... both show into bare gel... as you also the CD only went maybe one inch in depth farther than the HST...

+1 one of the best rounds on the market today they expand fully every time, from all my testing ive done with them...

Lot's of good recommendations here, and you should try a few different to find out what seems to work best for you. Reliability is key, with accuracy being second in my book. If you reload, personally, I go to reloads with 115gr XTP's over a "stout" load of HP38 or HS6. Runs well in my 938, M9 and Uzi, which keeps things simple.

I usually have Winchester Ranger T 147 grain in my Glock 19 and Smith M&P 9, although my M&P is usually restricted to range and IDPA use. I also sometimes carry Golden Saber 147 grain. I have on hand and have tested for reliability, 124 grain Golden Saber, 147 grain Hornady TAP, 115 grain Hornady Critical Defense, 124 and 147 grain Hydroshocks. I've just gotten an order in of 124 and 147 grain Federal HST, both standard pressure, but haven't shot any yet to establish reliability in my guns. I have no doubt they will work fine, but I never carry any ammo without testing first for reliability.

My suggestion is to select a good ammo, with Winchester Ranger T, Federal HST, Gold Dot, or Golden Saber being my top choices, test for reliability first and foremost, and then carry which one you shoot best provided it proves reliable.
