I've got some 124 grn Gold Dots and a bunch of LE grade 124 Grn Hydra-shoks--even it they are outdated tech!

I agree it is too light. I recently watched a demo of this ammo and it did not even make it 9 inches and there was no stretch cavity. Usually with a good hollow point round you will see a stretch cavity where those petals are cutting through the ballistic gel. I prefer to carry a round that passes all of the protocols of the FBI field testing. This is an under penetrating round and I would not use it for self defense. Stick to Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot or Winchester Ranger T. I prefer the Gold Dot 124+P and if you are carrying a firearm with a barrel of less than 3.5 inches look at their Short Barrel line.

Winchester Ranger T bonded 124 +P is my first pick but Federal HST's run a close second, I also use Winchester Ranger T 147 bonded standard velocity in Winter

Gold Dot 124 gr (bonded HP) or Double Tap 124 gr (solid copper HP). Both are excellent choices and minimize the change of fragmentation. GD is a bit less expensive.

Winchester Ranger T Series is also great, albeit much more difficult to procure.

In 9mm, I carry a 147 gr JHP, usually a PDX or and HST.

I'm loading Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P in my 9mm carry guns, one of which is a Kahr PM9. It should shoot like butter out of your Sig.

I will also add that I just watched Corbon's president and Tom Gresham on Outdoor Channel and they were discussing the CORBON DPX line of ammunition with the Barnes 100% Copper bullet. I know many in the firearms industry carry this ammo including Clint Smith and Johan Farnam. It is one of the most expensive but I suppose it is also the best. I have it in 115+P 9MM and it shoots well in all of my guns.

For SD, we use Federal Classic 'Hi-Shok' 115 grain JHP 9BP (SV), and 9BPLE (+P+)

    PF9: 9BP
    Taurus 24/7: 9BP
    FNP-9: 9BPLE
    S&W 5906/915: 9BPLE

For every other application, we use our handloaded ammo.

124gr Speer Gold Dots. Being in Nebraska though....I've been reading up on the possibility of switching to some type of Hornady defense round.

Federal HST or Speer Gold Dots, both in 115 grain. Although I do want to pick up some 124 grain to try out.
