    Accurate FMJ 45?

I have a Sig 220 that is said to be the most accurate 45 out of the box. Well my grouping are ok and are steadily increasing with practice. But I'm not a bad shot and I've certainly shot better with other guns including other Sigs. So I figure the cheap ammo I shoot might be a problem. I shoot CCI Blazer Brass a little, but I shoot Winchester 100 Value Pack 99% of the time. The shots go all over the place and accuracy is inconsistant. When I tested some Fed Hydras the accuracy was much better.

So what is a good FMJ practice round that is commonly available. Speer Lawman, Remington 50 round box, Winchester 50 round box, American Eagle, Independance? I hear the quality on the 50 and 100 round boxes from Winchester differ in quality.

I prefer Magtech if available, otherwise American Eagle. Haven't tried the Speer or Remington myself.

Mag tech and American are good.
Also try the Georgia Arms stuff.

I always put Sellier & Bellot (S&B) through my P220 with very good accuracy.

    cheap ammo

I think it's cheap ammo for a reason. Don't expect miracles with any of the bulk cheap stuff. Some pistols will shoot good with one load, while another will shoot poorly with the same load. Try several and practice practice practice. A good load, and pretty available, but not as cheap is the Federal Match stuff in 230gr and 185gr SWC. The 185gr may not shoot in all guns.

Not asking for another cheap bulk pack. Just an accurate FMJ that I can test and see if I can get a little more accuracy out of. I've had good luck with the Sellier and Bellot too, but I've only shot it through a borrowed 1911. Guess I'll keep an eye out and snatch up some good brands to test.

Go with the Federal Match stuff, then.

Well, if you really want to see how well your SIG will group for you then I would buy some Federal Premium Gold Match Pistol FMJ.
Ammo does not get much better than that.
