I have a glock 30sf and I was wondering out of this list, which one would you guys recommend as far as standard carry load. I have them varying on the weapon I'm using due to barrel length and purpose and area I intend to go and season, but I'm not sure about the 30. I don't know if it has an X factor to help preserve muzzle velocity such as tighter barrel or whathaveyou...
-165 gr +p corbon powerball
-185 gr goldensaber bonded
-230 gr Pdx1
-185 gr +p glaser DPX
-165 gr hydra-shok
Or we can just do hardball.
Any 230 grain in the top SD rounds is more than ample. I have both Golds Dots and PDX1s.
Enjoy the forum....................
I have a G30 as well and I only carry Federal HST's +p, the out perform all of what you have listed for choices, Ive tested lots of .45ACP and the HST's are the only ones that performed 100% of the time, if your looking for velocity then maybe the Doubletaps 160g +p barnes TAC-XP.. those also perform very well.. hope this helps...
Gold Dots, HydraShocks, PDX-1's... just a few of my favorite choices among many good SD rounds... I personally prefer heavier projectiles.
Of that list, I'd go with the 230 gr. PDX1.
Besides being heavy-for-caliber, it is also a bonded JHP- a very desirable quality for barrier penetration where that might be a concern.
Out of the list, the 230 PDX, assuming you and your Glock like how it shoots.
BTW--there is no such round as a "185gr Glaser DPX". If you are talking about the 185gr CorBon DPX, that would be another acceptable choice, assuming, again, that your Glock fed it reliably, and you liked it's accuracy and controllability.
Alright, thank you all...but the reason I said choose from this list is because of recent events effects on the ammo supply. hst was what I preferably wanted but this is all I could get my hands on. Oh and just another question...anyone ever tested these rounds through bone or in an actual situation? I know from my experience that hardball doesn't usually over penetrate the human body...at least what we had didn't...WWB
Oh and also, recoil and accuracy aren't an issue with any of these. The way I shoot I barely feel the recoil...or it's just that I've been shooting for too long
Welcome from S.C.I bought the 30sf back in dec. The list you made, any of them should be ok.I have some PDX,Gold Dot and the Saber.
