every time i've been since the end of the december, my local wally world has had a ton of .38spl, 22lr, 12 and 20ga target loads.
local sportsman's warehouse had tons of 357 sig, .44 mag, .38spl, .357 mag, 10mm auto, .380 - i didn't see a single box of other common handgun rounds (9mm, .40, .45acp)
one lgs had 4 boxes of 165gr .40, but no other handgun ammo on-hand.
.40 S&W. probably because law enforcement uses it so more of it was in the warehouses.
Around here, .40 and .38spl, .357mag, and .44 mag are the most plentiful rounds on the shelves.
However, .22LR, .45acp and 9mm are not terribly hard to find.
I just went to 3 stores today and the shelves were bare, except for some .357sig's and .22lr's at Walmart. No .380, no .38 special, no 9mm, no .40, no .45, all gone none to be had, none to be found, and none of the clerks could tell me when any was coming in. About all that was plentiful were shotgun shells.
Our local gander has just about every kind in all sorts of different loads in MN. But they sure are proud of it. 20 bucks a box for 9mm 24 bucks for .38 or 29-35 for 40-45. Seams high. They have every clabre you could want and at least 3-4 kinds of each. Just a lot of price gouging. And the good self defense rounds higher than that.
Tough to make a decision. Take it And the price tag? Or keep searching.....all i know is i want a ton of practice round for as cheep as possible and a few boxes of defense stuff. Hmm......
I went yesterday. Myself and 2 other guys all staring at the locked glass storage area. All shelves empty :(
