Ummm, think I've been bit by the .45 bug.
So today for the first time ever I fired 50rds of the much discussed .45 and I must say I like it!
I expected major recoil but I was surprised by how it is tame compared to my .40 S&W (Has more of a snap). My target (a Human torso) was placed at 12ft and I was hitting in the ten ring. I may have went 50/50 I didn't see any holes outside of the holes on the actual target, I felt more confident in it than I did with my .40 though today I did put 210rds of .40 down range and did see improvement.
Gun used M&P 45.
Any compact .45 out there with a decent compacity?
The .45 is a nice round that's for sure.

There is no cure. I shoot my .45 much better than I ever did my .40 and enjoy it a lot more.

I honestly said to myself "Wow" and really started thinking about getting one because it just blew me away with the smooth recoil.
I was thinking about going back to the 9mm but I may put that on hold and get a .45.

There are SO many .45s to choose from.
Define decent capacity and we can narrow down your options.

I'm pretty fond of my Glock 30 and its 10-rd mag. I use a G21 13-rd mag for home duty. I've wanted a .45 ever since I had the experience of staring down the business end of one. Impressive, yes.

Due to the size of the bullet I would say 8-10rds, but still compact enough to carry concealed if need be.

M&P 45C is one of the better ones. Dimensions about the same as a Glock 19/23 with a slightly thicker slide. Capacity is
8+1. Since you've already fired an M&P 45, you already know its a shooter.

A bit expensive, 8+1, and about the same size as a G19. The HK45c is one sweet shooter. Might have a little trouble finding one, but it's worth it if you can.

What I've been sayin' for years.......if you can shoot a .45acp, why would you need a .40 or 9mm or etc.........

9rds is good enough for me considering the size of the bullet, since I am familiar with the M&P line full size and compact, I would probably go for the M&P. The HK's cost so much plus it has a safety on it but it does look like it is reliable.
Couldn't go wrong with either though, even an XD.

its a good bug to be bit by. not a good one to get shot by.

LOL Reminds of when a Deputy Sheriff recruit asked his range instructor Why doesn't his respective department allow the .40
The range instructor said "We have the 9 and .45, what do you need the .40 for?"

1911 platform is hard to beat......thin, easy to carry and real accurate! I carry my Dan Wesson CCO every day...7 + 1 and carry 8 rd magazine in back pocket.
