A P228 is a quality gun and should manage +P OK. That said, any +P load will cause more wear and tear on your weapon due to the higher pressures. In my experience, they generally are not necessary to accomplish the task at hand.

With that said, +P should be no problem in your Sig. However DO NOT use +P+ without reviewing your manual, as I remember only Glock & HK allow the use of +P+!
Caveat, our last shipment of Winchester +P+ included a warning statement "Winchester is not responsible for any damage to your firearm!"
