Can a Glock 36 handle +p ammo? If so, should it be limited in its use? Specifically, I am referring to the Federal 185 gr +p.
Thanks.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
Still can't believe what happened on 11/06/12! Disgusted and disappointed!
according to the glock armorers manuel, the glocks are designed for nato spec. ammo. nato spec. is a little bit hotter than +p+ so you should be good to shoot +p with no worries.
No problem with the 36 and hot .45.
If you can hold onto it then you can shoot it in the 36.
A few months ago I shot up 100 older steel case jacketed 230s in my G36 and they were extremely hot and they shot very dirty.
I don't even remember where I got them as they were at least 15/20 years old. Hottest .45 I've shot in years and sure felt hotter than +P+.
HOT stuff but, all went without a hitch.
Some of the Glock guys say that if you feed your Glock a steady diet of the hot stuff,a spring change would be in order. Others don't.
I would if(big if) performance would not be hampered.
I would think that the occasional, say, less the 20% of total rds. fired, was the hot stuff, then you would be ok.
My friends that own Glocks, compete with them, and hunt with them, have never had a problem with the hotter loads. Some change springs, some don't.
Even the friend of mine that handloads everything up to the absolute book max, then steps gently over the line with his "world famous" 200 grainers(10mm) -------
Never had a problem out of my G30...

Thanks for the replys guys. I'll put a box of +p through it to see how I like it. I love the way it shoots with standard .45 ACP, so I don't think that it'll be too bad with +p.
Then I'll probably practice w/ standard loads and carry the +p.
