    How Do You Store Ammo?

How do you guys store your extra ammo? Currently mine is locked in a Craftsman toolbox. I have had ammo for years and never really gave it a second thought but just to be safe with all this hoarding I want to make sure it lasts. Anyone know a good place to get some moisture displacement packets?

You can get silica gel packs from Amazon, or ULine. ULine is a large commercial packaging supplies company.

As far as where I store my ammo; I store mine on a shelf in my basement or in those gren ammo boxes. The important thing is to keep it in a cool, dry place, and it will keep for years.

I store them on my shelf in my walk-in closet. I cant seem to find any reasonably priced so my shelf is bare like mother hubard's cupboard.

I'm seriously thinking about storing mine in a fire resistant safe. If my place caught on fire, I would hate to endanger the firefighters. Even if the safe didn't prevent the ordinance from detonating, it would act as a containment vessel. Just my thoughts.

I store mine in surplus 50 cal ammo cans within a locked steel double walled hazardous material locker. The locker is to keep the uninvited visitors out of my cache.

If I had any ammo, I would go to an Office Depot and buy their largest clear plastic “weatherproof” container like a very large rectangular Tupperware with snap on top. Then I would go to a big box sporting goods store and buy a desiccant container or two that can be plugged into an electrical outlet to recharge when it turns from blue to pink.

In 50 cal ammo cans. Throw a freshly baked dessicant in there and open for Armageddon.
