    It's getting better

Stopped by the best LGS in NH, and one of the best in the nation - Riley's - yesterday near closing to say Hi to a few folks, just because I was in the area. I wasn't expecting to see any ammo - it was 4pm on a Friday.

First, my plug for Riley's: They aren't bargain basement pricing, but they don't gouge. Throughout all this madness, they continue to sell ammo and firearms as they arrive at a fair price. Ralph takes care of his customers and his employees, sometimes at the expense of his business. He supports 2A issues and pols as well as local charities, sponsors local training opportunities, and is honest as the day is long. If you're in the Manchester/Concord area, stop by and throw him some business.

    So... Plenty of:
.45 CCI aluminum 50s and $180 for 500-rd boxes of CCI Brass FMJ in plastic ammo case. Plenty of Gold Dot as well.
    5.56 500 and 1000rd packs of federal 55gr for ~.40/rd. 20s for $8.95
    5.56 AE green tip, $8.95/20
    5.56 Privi - $80/200 rds (10 20-rd boxes in vacuum pack)
    .22LR Fed Automatch 40gr - $15.95/325

For the popular cals, they had a 1box limit on bulk and 2 on small boxes. I walked out with some .22LR and a couple boxes of green tip.

.40 and .38spl was in as well, but that's been easier to find around here also.

They'd had a lot of 9, but that was gone. LE shop had some.

Oh, and a whole rack of ARs, as well as Colt, Troy, and other 30rd mags.

Also saw an Auto-Ordnance Thompson reproduction. I didn't know those existed. Seemed to be pretty well-made, but spendy, and it's not like I need another way to burn through .45

    Anyhow, it's getting better!

Checked Georgia Arms this a.m. and see they have some ammo in stock as well. .38, .357 though I didn't see any .223 or .40; don't remember seeing 9mm either. This is a big improvement as just a few weeks ago they had nothing at all.

Stopped by again just before closing today. 22LR was gone. Still plenty of 5.56 - I picked up another 2 boxes of green tip. Scored the last 2 boxes of 9mm PMC Bronze at $12.95/50. Lots of .45, .38spl, and a couple cases of .40 still on the floor. .30-06 and .308 bulk. All the AK you could ever want.

Indeed. Thank you for mentioning GA and jogging my memory. It reminded me to check my bookmarked bulk ammo. I have been stalking their 10mm Canned Heat packs and it was in stock!

Glad to hear that its coming back around, maybe not long before it's normal again, at least in some places. I haven't seen a change here.

Agreed on things looking better. I think it's more a matter of timing these days. I checked the Leesburg VA wallyworld this weekend after getting one of my alerts. They had the usual suspects: 410, 12, 7mm, 300wm, and they also had:
    40S&W, 45ACP, some 5.56Nato, and TONS(at least 2 cases that I spotted) of Tula .308.

I snagged two of the Federal Bulk 100 rnd packs of the 45ACP. This was NOT an anomaly. My checker email notified me of multiple stores this weekend that had stuff. I just didn't feel like driving all over the region on mothers day. Not all stores had everything. Some stores had calibers that others didn't and vice versa.

It's been hit or miss for me. Found a few more boxes of .45 at Walmart last week, but it seems to be about timing. Everything else was gone.

its been my experience here (Colville, Wa.) that .38 and .357 were very easy to find in the previous ammo scares. Colt 45 readily available anywhere too..... but not this time around. No colt 45 or 38/357 here at all.

Local Cabela's had tons of .45 this past weekend. There were also no crowds and lines at the gun counter either. That's a change from 6 weeks ago. Lots more guns under the glass as well.
