Winchester PDX1 .410 doesn't fit my double barrel shotgun. Why not?

I have had 3 inch remington express fired through this weapon for years. I thought I'd pick up some of these 3 inch PDX1 .410 defender shells from winchester for home defense. I put them in and could not close it up?? I put in the 3 inch remingtons and no problem? I'm stumped, please help me understand what is going on. Oh, and by the way, anyone want to buy a box of 10 of these nifty home defense rounds? Cheap? I'm not sure it is worth it to me to take gun and shells to a gunsmith. I'll just dump the hot loads.

Just a shot in the dark. You probably all ready know but are you sure they are not 3 inch?

I have been wanting to try some of the PDX-1 in my old 3" H&R single barrel for close in coyotes. Have you run a bronze brush through your chamber to make sure it is clean? How does the overall length compare to the 3" Remingtons you have used?

Those PDX's are designed for use in those whiz-bang revolvers.

Possible they are a little longer than a standard 3".

Well hell. There you go. The damn box says 3 inch but when I stack it up next to my standard load the PDX's are just a scosh longer. Maybe an 8th of an inch. Thanks for the thoughts guys.
Um, anyone want a deal on the box ?
