    I got lucky

I got lucky and ran across some Remington HTP .38 SPL 158gr LSWCHP (+P) ammo at the local Gander Mountain. I was quite surprised as the price wasn't out rageous as I had expected. I'm not sure what the difference is supposed to be between this and their Express line of ammo as the cartridges are identical. I'm wondering if this is just going to be new packageing, and if it is eventually going to phase out the Express line.

I understand where your coming from. This stuff most often times is scarce as hens teeth, I was rather elated to see several boxes on the shelf. I still have a partial box that I've had for about three years now. I don't like using it when it is so hard to come by.

Not to steal your thread, but I haven't bought ammo since fall of 2012. I have looked for it, but without luck. Walked I. Wally World yesterday afternoon for something else. After I did my shopping I decided to look at the Always empty ammo stand. Was I shocked two guys waiting for the clerk. Two boxes of 100 packs, one 50 pack of 9mmRemington umc, one 100 pack 45, one 50 pack of 45., two boxes of 38, 2 boxes of 357.

Since I was third ended up with small box of 9mm and 100 pack of 45.

I felt lucky in that I found some ammo, but I felt ashamed that I had to pay so much to get it. Anyone else feel like that?

Hmmm...I had to double check the date of these posts! I feel bad for you folks; the situation is a lot better here. Quite a bit of most calibers, everything but .22lr is pretty abundant and even that can be found.

Yeah, I know what you mean! The guys at Scheel's say they get it several times per week, a decent amount, but it sells within minutes, hours at most. Really strange. I run across it often enough that I've mostly quit buying it when I do see it unless it's a kind/brand that I especially want. I'm fixed pretty well for .22lr so I'm not in a rush, but it's odd that it's not back yet.

The ammo shortage is definitely easing up a bit around here, too - but I've been looking for .38 158gr LSWCHP for months, and still no luck.
