If you're going to carry one weapon, might as well carry two, because as the saying goes, "Two is one, and one is none."

I just looked at all 10 pages. I hope what they're doing makes sense to some of you cuz it doesn't make much sense to me.

I agree...some of those on the list I thought would be a demand item for them.

How many times each year do other ammunition and component manufacturers temporarily suspend production of certain products within their lines without publishing any bulletin about it? If a person thinks that manufacturers crank out all cartridges and all components at all times he's wet behind the ears. There are lots of ammunition products that are only produced in as little as a single small run in a production cycle which may not even come around as soon as annually.

Hornady is just apparently being forthright and announcing it, perhaps because of the scale of curtailment.

Well darn, it looks like one of my favorite bullets is on the list. the .224 60gr. Vmax. At least I'll know not to look for them for a while!

I guess anything is possible but I don't think that's the case. It's probably easily justified by looking at their sales vs. manufacturing costs vs. demand. Honrady makes a ton of different bullets, probably the most prolific bullet manufacturer by a lot, so if they can cut out a bunch of bullets that don't see a high demand and keep their manufacturing equipment focused on the higher demand products, they'll be able to keep their sales and profits up, which usually keeps prices stable.

I got excited - Several weeks ago I came across some .40 cal Critical Duty 175gr. rounds. Only a box of 20 but I thought if I kept it long enough it might be worth a lot. Alas - they weren't on the list, lol.

One of the things I noticed in the 9mm was they are suspending basically plinking ammo. I don't know how many people use 124 grain full metal jacket flat point for defensive use. Looks to me like they are responding to market pressure and trying to produce more of what people are actually looking for.
