I've never had any trouble with anything I've ever put through it. I don't like to put low-grain ammo through the small guns, so I'd avoid anything under 155 grains. Beyond that, buy quality ammo and enjoy.

I should have mentioned that i was looking for SD ammo more than target rounds.......

Round count is at 250 ish....trying to get 500 before i carry. the gun seems a little stiff will 9+1 loading. does that change? i have a G22 that i use for IDPA and that thing runs like a sewing machine and I dont remember it being so tight?

Your Glock shouldn't have trouble cycling any kind of ammo. I recommend 180gr Federal HSTs. Do the research and you'll see they are fantastic.

This place has them in stock at a good price.

Medium-heavy weight Gold Dots would be my second choice.

Mine happily eats anything and everything, but for EDC I use the Hornady Critical Defense ammo. The only thing I don't like about this is that in low light conditions the muzzle flash is still pretty big & bright.

Its a Glock... if it is .40 it will shoot it! That being said some may be more accurate than others. Enjoy!

What makes you think that you have to break in a Glock in the first place?

I have owned my G27 for six years and it is my primary carry. After countless rounds I've never experienced a malfunction. i have tested many SD rounds into deer and hog cadavers. Some I even tested shooting through four layers of denim. In my experience the best overall penetration and uniformity of expansion was the Federal HST 180gr and Golden Saber 180gr. There are many I haven't tested, but I know I can carry either of these with confidence. I usually buy the Federal HST 180gr only because of lower pricing.
