    Good Deal on .223 ?

I am not a rifle guy accept for hunting. That being said I bought 1000 rounds of black hills remanufactured 60 grain soft point .223 rounds for $300.00. Guy needed to get rid of it after a death. Good deal or not?

Thirty cents a round isn't bad. I've been buying in bulk at that rate. Today, I saw some advertised at .25 a round, but it sold out instantly.

.223 has really come down in price and is highly available right now. I wonder why 9mm is still so scarce?

As I said a month ago, when it gets to $.25 I'll stop reloading it and start buying it again. By that time all the brass I've accumulated will be worthless anyway.

What ammo are you buying at that price, and where, please? Is it steel case?

I haven't seen any new brass cased .223 or 5.56 for under $.35/rd in a long time. The Russian steel-cased stuff is a lot cheaper & easier to find, but even that's been going for $.40-.50 lately. I generally prefer reloadable brass, but don't mind having a little of the steel stashed away for a rainy day.
