Remington Golden Saber VS Federal Hydra-Shock VS Hornady XTP 45 ACP Ammo

For a defense load in 45 ACP,which between these following brands,Remington Golden Saber(230 Grain),Federal Hydra-Shock(230 Grain),and Hornady XTP(230 Grain+P)would you choose? For your information, the reason for me asking only about these brands of 45 ACP ammo is because I live here in the Philippines and they are only ones what are available here.
    Thanks in advance.

pare any of the three brands will do. the Golden saber has a reputation for jacket seperation, the hydra shock has a good track record but its an old style (old technology). The Hornady XTP is quite new but more advance technology. in my opinion it's a 45cal. stopping a threat won't be a problem as long as you hit it. just make sure it performs well with your handgun.

I don't shoot a .45, but my S&W .40 shoots the Golden Saber with better accuracy than Federal or Hornady. I was actually disappointed because I always relied on Horandy Critical Defense before I performed that...which is more reliable, test I did. lol!

Yep. Make sure it runs through your weapon well. For some reason my Sig P250 .45 doesn't feed the HST well. Going to try the Hornady next. It feeds smoothly in my 9mm variant.

I carry the Hydroshocks in 230 in my RIA (along with Win PDX1- when I can find 'em) they're accurate, feed well and while old school, they worked very well then and still do IMO

I agree...the 230 grain Hydra-Shok's are a well proven load. Of the bonded bullet designs I like the Gold Dots and Golden Sabers equally well.

I'd pick the golden saber over the other brands, yes some have jacket separation but they expand everytime , and have very sharp edges, but another option is the Federal HST.... Like others said just make sure it cycles thru your gun and you will be good...
