Anyone with feedback on Independence Ammo?

I probably should have asked first before buying but I'm a knee-jerk (sometimes just a jerk) kind of guy. Is IA ammo worth the effort? As a newb, I've only put Federal AE223 and some Fusion MSR thru my BM and figured I'd get a small amount of the IA (ordered 100 rds) for my sons & daughter to plink with when they visit next month so I don't eat into my Federal stock pile too much.

Despite that I've already ordered, does anyone have comments regarding IA ammo? It's FMJ boat tail and BPS has it on sale for $7.97/20 rds: Independence 5.56x45mm NATO Centerfire Rifle Ammo | Bass Pro Shops

A range that rents guns by me requires you use their ammo with their guns. They sell independent ammo for that purpose. Always seemed a decent price. Its a bit dirty, but all ammo is somewhat dirty.

    It's a Federal/ATK product.

    I've never had an issue.

This is Federal Corp ammo lisciences to be made in Israel if I'm not totally mistaken. You can google it to make sure. I feed mine everything just to make sure it will run it. Have not had any problems with any of it. Tulammo and Monarch are very dirty but are accurate.

I grabbed 1000 rounds of this stuff about a year ago and it ran just fine... zero problems.

Ditto times 2. However my Independence ammo was made in Brazil. Got it 2-13-05 1000R at $6.75 per 50R, FMJ. Runs like a champ.

I shot 500 rds of .40s&w through my XD in a training class without one issue. I'd certainly buy it again if the price is right.

Excellent feedback, TY gents. I was going to buy more but wanted a small quantity to try first and with the kids coming to visit for Thanksgiving, I wanted some additional plinking stuff. The price is about the same as what I occasionally find AE223 for. BM states that I can shoot both .223 and 5.56 x 45 and I've yet to shoot the latter.

Sure thing. I've been using the stuff in my 5.56 for quite some time with no issues. I buy it whenever I see it retail.
