For practice reloads are fine, you can afford a bad round, but for self-defense its a no brainer, premium defense loads you have test fired at least a box of. Change your ammo out at least once a year, and anytime after it gets wet, to be safe. My family's life is worth $20-$40 a year - insurance if you will.
