WAY too slow for shotgun shells. It MAY be ok for some of the larger belted magnum rifles or some hotshot smaller bore stuff like the 240 Hot Tamale. That is a .340 Weatherby Mag case necked down to .243 cal with a 100gr bullet a well over 4000 fps. I would suggest you check Jeff Bartletts web page-----www.GI brass.com. Get his phone number and give him a ring.He is the "go to" guy for this kind of stuff. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he doesn't have a bunch of it in stock right now.

    Nope on the shotshells.

    Coffeecup's got a good handle on such a slow-burning powder's capabilities.

The powder would barely do for kicking out the heaviest bullet weights one could possibly use in the .30-06 or .30 Magnums (220 grain-250 grain) and large capacity magnum cartridges of bore sizes larger than .30, but probably wouldn't give inspiring velocities or consistency.

I would imagine it suitable for a Jeffery .404 Nitro.

Hope you haven't got TOO much into it. It's cheap surplus stuff that has a reputation for not being good for much of anything.

Hodgdon H870 is supposed to be similar. Might see if you can find some load data for that. Be careful!!!

Thanks coffee BMC and Kilo3. I paid 10 bucks for 10 pounds 2 trucks ago so I'm not too worried.

I'll use it to start my BBQ this Spring!

Came across this thread that has some discussion of the WC-860. You might glean some useful info from here:

WCC-860 dirty & slow but it shoots

Be awfully careful about data you find on a message board, though!
