After firing and testing this ammo in make shift test of 3-4 water jugs of empty milk jugs covered with two layers of old denim jeans over the first. They seem to perform very well on the jugs and wet rag bullet stop. With .55 to .60 expansion for 5 rds. A limited test, but they seem to perform as expected very good. Now I have to save the empty milk jugs a few months again. Crono out of test gun a 2" SW J-frame 819fps to 828fps. Penatration on the jugs pass,s the 12" standard. Seems to be a good carry CCW load. I don,t see or hear to much about the WW ranger line other than the 9mm 127+P+ load or the 45acp 230 stx loads. Anybody hear anything about this load on the street?
I think you meant to say SXT (Supreme Expansion Technology)?
From what I've read, this is Winchester's version of Speer's 135 grain Gold Dot JHP short barrel loading. Performance should be about equal.
The Speer load is known to work well; no reason to believe the Winchester load wouldn't work just as well.
I shoot Gold Dots in my M60, but that's mainly because I can buy it locally. For some reason, nobody around here sells Winchester ammo (other than white box sold at WalMart).
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.
