When coupled with ASP Suppressors as part of the dedicated ASP SILENT SAVIOR System, operators have a silent and utterly lethal assault system. The subsonic rounds retain the stopping effectiveness of the Nytrilium-Tungsten composite. The reduced velocities and controlled penetration are desirable in sensitive areas like nuclear power facilities, built-up urban areas, nuclear powered vehicles and unconventional operations. Submit credentials for information on performance and additional special purpose ammunition. In service today with the Special Operations Elite."

Wow...sounds impressive. But, WTH is Special Operations Elite? Not sure, so I looked it up...if these guys are using these rounds, we need to get them now!

"Ones of such ranking are extremely skilled fighters. These commandoes sent in by the Covenant to accomplish some of the most dangerous and difficult of missions. These soldiers are believed to rank higher than the Major Domo Elites, but most Special Operations Elites bear cobalt-colored armor plating; perplexing, as it denotes their rank as a Minor Domo Elite, even though they are sent on difficult missions.

Zero-g Special Operations Elite specialists are referred to as Rangers.

Special Operations Elites are sometimes mistaken with Stealth Elites, who similarly have stealth abilities."

Ah man, I am having trouble tracking down this dudes point and relivance to the current topic. Is he pitching a movie? A comic? And what the heck is that a picture of? Please tell me there's someone else out there who shares my line of thinking.

Sounds like a .22 long rifle standard velocity rim fire to me.

Uh, the ammo manufacturer says that the ammo is used by Special Operations Elite. The number one Google reference to that unit is an alien race in a video game called Halo. I think that they make a round used by an alien race in a video game is entirely on point.

However, to assuage dfoster9's anger, I have deleted the post.

Hey, it makes just as much sense as the rest of their marketing.

Thanks for doing your homework. I went for the hype and had both my .45 carry mags loaded with Extreme Shock fang-faces ( My .40S&W Baby Eagle too!) I thought working downtown and living in an apartment complex warranted using frangible ammo to minimize collateral damage. The stuff is now back in the box and in a drawer. I'll continue to make shot placement my priority and load up with Federal EFMJ's for home and carry.

Nobody has addressed the civil liability aspects of using a special ammunition such as this. I think a jury that hears 'Extreme Shock' and/or 'Fang face' is going to have a hard time relating it to self-defense.

Good point Lowflyer: A San Francisco jury just convicted a low-life of 2nd degree mansaughter when he pled down to ASSASSINATING Officer Isaac Espinosa with an AK from ambush. He could get out in less than ten years. People like this would give me LIFE for saving the lives of innocents using ammo with this brand name. I don't know what I was thinking....I've been living and working in SF for many years and the descent into the sewer has been so gradual I must have forgotten what day it is. This used to be the City That Know's How, but now it's a good city to be a victim.
