Golden Saber 125. I'll go with the CorBon 110 +P DXP .38 Spl when it's available.

You know, I don't even know what's in my bedside gun other than they're Speer JHP of some type in the S&W 65-3. I've shot a bunch of them to get familiar with the gun, but don't think about it any more. It's whatever the equivalent load was for the old Blazer JHPs - shot to the same point of aim so I've never bought a second box of them.

It's my set it and forget it gun in the bedroom along with a Sig 226. Then again, I'm not sure what's in that Sig either. I don't generally play with my bedroom toys.

I'm with BigBore on this one...I carry 150gr. PMC Starfires in my
2 1/4" SP101. Accurate and controllable in the "little" Ruger.

I've considered switching to those... But I'd have to shoot up what I already have first.

I had the same thing happen a couple months ago. I was at the range shooting my Smitty 686 and a few Secret Service agents were doing their qual course stop to see were the noise was coming from!

When I carried the SP-101 (or M28) I chose the CorBon 140 grain offering. Seemed pretty effectiove and POI was adequate.

I have always tho (traditionalist ) favored good ol' 158's and sometime will pick up some LSWCHP's - Rem I believe make em and Win. IIRC Mtnbkr has some.

I'd not feel compromized however with those CorBons!

I like the Golden Sabre 125's as well. But I always carried the MagSafe SWAT loads in 357 when I had my SP101 (which now protects my daughter and her new household).

    Golden sabers

    I tried a box of 125gr 357 mags
today, they shot very well from my 3" 65-3.I was surprised by the
    large yellowish-white muzzle
flash i saw while shooting indoors. It looks like i'll be using
    hornady's 140gr XTP's a while
    longer,they have some muzzle
flash but it's more of a dark red-
    orange in color.

Like others in this thread, I prefer 125 grain JHP's in my .357 Magnum revolvers.

I wonder how good are those 130 grain loads.

Hello. The ammunition I tote in my .357 revolvers depends on the revolver. In my 3 1/16" SP101 I use Remington 125-gr. Golden Sabers. I found that anything hotter does cause me to take slightly longer to fire accurate repeat shots. In my GP100 or K/L/N frame S&W's, I usually use Winchester 145-gr. STHP's.

    Best.
