    22 LR at My Walmart

Bought 225 rounds of Remington 22lr at Walmart today. $11.17 a good deal. This is the first time in...since our current administrative ruler was in charge that I have been able to do this.

Hope you stopped on your way home to pick up a lotto ticket before your luck changed.

    Congrats on the find.

Because of a crazy work schedule I went to Bass Pro for the first time in a long time last week and picked up a 222 rd pack for just a tick more than that.

They also have stocked handgun ammo minus 22LR back on the regular shelves instead of behind the counter. Haven't seen that in a couple of years.

I also stopped by Walmart this am doing some shopping for fishing tackle and low and behold there was a single box of the .22 lr Remington 225 box for $11.17! I felt like I hit the lottery, I haven't been able to buy any at my Walmart in almost a year!

    Your Walmart has ammo?

I live 2 minutes from one and they never have anything except oddball rifle calibers and a couple different shotgun shells. Apparently people around here still think Obama is coming for their guns and ammo and are going full tilt boogie in their hording efforts.

Whenever I'm at Wal-Mart, I check the ammo shelf for .22 bricks. Not that I would pay the current price (i.e. $22 for 500) for them, but if I see them, I figure I'll take a photo and post it on the net so that people will know that they still do exist. :)

When you fill out your income tax forms at the end of the year, look and see how much money you have given the government throughout the year. Then, take a moment to ponder -- has the government done $X worth of stuff FOR you or TO you this year? I tend to believe the latter...

I can't find .22 anywhere, at least at a decent price. Wally World never seems to have it where I live, and neither does anybody else. What is wrong with the world when we can't find .22?

Actually, a nickel a round is a pretty good price for .22 LR, even pre-Newtown.

Not when I can load other calibers for the same price.

Loading other calibers won't help one shoot .22s.

My club runs a "tactical .22" rifle match twice a month and a .22 pistol steel match one a month. Each takes about 100-150 rounds, depending on the stage setup. I'm so low on rimfire ammo I can only run the monthly pistol match.

I finally broke down and ordered some .22LR on line... got thoroughly screwed! The Wal-Mart guy just laughs when I ask if they have any!

I do the same thing! I've had to give up monthly matches because I just could not find enough ammo. To get Wallmart ammo Id have to wait in line starting at 5 am at a store that doesn't open till 7am to get a number for ammo that goes on sale at 8am. So Id miss a half day of work, running the price up even higher!
I finally caved in and bought a half case at .11 cents ea delivered. But I'm shooting again! DR

I have found this to be useful when I know I'm going to be on the road somewhere. I check several locations along the route. It has helped me score, more than once.

Note: It does not account for the places where the normal horders know when the truck is coming and are first in line, but has helped at some locations: http://ammo-can.net/
