.45 ACP Federal Hydro-shok 230 gr. opinions
just passed the break in period for my kimber ultra carry II. I bought a 20 pack of the Federal .45 Hyrdo-shok 230gr. rounds. any thoughts on these? this gun is carried off duty as i cannot carry a single action secondary. anything better? anyone done any testing on these with a Kimber or similar 1911? thanks

I would go to the range and try them. If they go bang, there are good.(you can use them) If not just toss em.
To close for missiles, switching to guns.

No way I would use them for CCW. You could use them for practice, but ammo is cheap, why bother risking it? False economy. I tested a bunch of different ammo for weeks in WD40, salt water, Hoppes #9 and most of it worked fine. The last time I washed a speed strip full of SJHP, the hollow points got beat up so bad it was almost closed up. Washed a Kel Tec 32 mag once or twice too, just tossed the ammo.
