147 grain bullet combined with the small case capacity of the 9m/m,would be my guess as to why not...There are no +P loads with this bullet wieght that I know of. The lenght of the 147 gr. bullets and the need to seat them deep to meet maximum overall length,is probably pushing close on SAMI pressure limits as a standard factorty load.

Sure, if loaded properly. DoubleTap makes a fine 147gr, using the Gold Dot bullet. It's amazing in my CZ P01. I've opted for the 124gr, but the 147gr's function just as well.

Double Tap makes a load like that in 147 but I prefer the HST 147 it shoots POA and group sixe at 15 yards is under 3".

to me it makes a lot of sense to have a +P 147gr. You get velocity and weight in the same package. The extra weight should give good penetration and the velocity is high enough to promote good expansion but not so high as to have seperation issues. Do you all agree?

Per their 2007 LE catalog, Federal now makes a 9mm 147gr HST +P load. If I still owned a 9mm, that's what I'd be carrying. HST is in high demand these days, so it may be difficult to locate.

My oldest CZ75 is stoked with the Double Tap 147 load. While I have yet to shoot it..I'm sure it will be superbly accurate and clean burning/low flash as have the other DT loads that I've tried in the past.

I carry DT 115 gr. Gold Dots in my RAMI.

Unlike HST and Winchester Ranger, you don't have to be a Cop to buy Double Tap.

Georgia Arm also makes a 147 gr. +p.....with a Gold Dot bullet. I have always had good luck with this ammo, and find it shoots pretty much to point of aim at about 12 yards in both my Beretta Cougar and my S&W M3913. I think Georgia Arm's "Precision Plus" line of ammo is fairly reasonably priced and well made.

I did some testing with several tipe of ammo, factory and handloads.147grs Gold Dot whose one of them. When it whose fired in the bare gelatin,it stoped after 16 inch, and whose properly open. But when it whose fired in the leather jacket,t-shirt,gelatin,it penetrated the gelatin block and stop in the cotton stoper.Expansion whose very poor. And it whose Factory ammo.Hydra Shock performed much better, but still, all of the 147grs are simply to weak if they meet the close before gelatin.
The best results whose with 123grs LAPUA Mega Shock handload (1250ft/s---1270ft/s from my G17).This stuff is unstopable.Open every time making ugly wound 12" inch deep.
