Just got a new EEA 10mm for home defense. What ammo is best FMJ or HP?

Probably HP if your exterior walls are plywood/OSB/blackboard. I'm a fan of FMJ 9mm, but for 10mm I think I'd opt for HP just to keep the round in the house.

I'd say HP for sure. With 10mm you have no worries about adequate penetration, as you might with less powerful rounds. 10mm FMJ is better suited for hunting large animals than for defense.

I prefer the Winchester Silvertip 175 grain JHP. It has been hard to find around here lately.

For the 10mm you can actually get thermonuclear tipped. That's what I'd use.

I have two choices, for the few times I use my EAA 10mm.
Slivertip HP and Flat point reloads.
The 10mm has a combination of mass (heavier bullet) and speed that makes bullet choice less of an issue.

I believe that was the Mk1.3 or W1/1-2 warhead. Or skirmish head by the NATO name.

Seriously? You prefer FMJ for defensive ammo with the 9mm? Why? Just curious.

For practise ammo the Georgia Arms FMJ stuff is hard to beat price wise. 180 gr fmj for $22 for 50. They are a good medium velocity option.

Underwood has n excellent 10mm defensive offering - 180 grain Hornady XTP at 1350 FPS - and you can get it for les than the price that some people ask for 9mm defensive loads.

For practice ammo, I use a local place that does remanufactured ammo. They only offer "factory new" in 10mm, but it's still the best price that I've found on 10mm practice ammo.
