I never did get any resolution. Lesson learned I guess.

Resolution in any specific gun+bullet combination I've tried is: variable. Though, in this case, it seems your sample rounds were shaped in such a manner that contributed to feeding problems. In the 9mm's I tried (and now use), I experienced exceptional feeding. Of course, that isn't to say those specific rounds will feed reliably in anything else. They do in my guns (CZ P01 and Browning BDM). YMMV, as always, when attempting to find a good combination. Doesn't mean either the gun or ammo sucks, necessarily. It is just as likely to mean the most-common reason that occurs: the specific gun+bullet combo isn't within each other's tolerance range.

I've been debating with ordering some of these. I backpack a lot and was thinking of the hardcasts, but I was worried about the .40 being able to push such a heavy projectile. Have you had any problems?

I haven't had any problems at all. I've fired about 150 rounds of the 200 gr. They are Hornady XTP-HP.

I love their 10mm stuff....I've fired a number of their DT 10mm loads and have settled on their 165 grain Golden Sabre JHPs...excellent stuff.
