In general I would agree that a .45acp is supperior to 9mm. Having said that I would rather carry a good 9mm JHP than a .45 fmj. Just because a bullet has a .45 diameter does not mean the permanent wound channel will be .45 diameter. Often tissue will flow around the rounded profile of a .45fmj round. In a non expanding round I would rather have a flat point fmj or a semi wad cutter because they are less aerodynamic and more likely to cut a hole close to the bullet diameter but then this could negate the feeding benefits of a round nosed bullet.

Thanks to all the responses, I wasn't about to give up on the JHPs yet, I was just curious about the overall opinion here...........
That brand was Winchester 230gr. Personal Protection, white box
I'll move on to the next brand.
I am sure many have seen this, but I found it very interesting:
I've shot the WWB Personal Protection rounds from WallyWorld. They will feed in nearly any gun that feeds the WWB FMJs. That would include nearly any 45ACP made.
They are plenty accurate. I would be using it for SD except that I found another round which in my gun produces near match accuracy and also has a good JHP.
