I carry 45 during the winter and part of the warmer months up till I am too hot and need something a bit smaller.
I have a RAMI in 9mm that I used last summer but I have been thinking about getting a G26 or something even slimmer...G36 maybe? A .380 maybe...? Maybe not...warm out, more people out wandering around...maybe I will stay with a 45.

I retired my .40 to nightstand duties, since then I have been carrying my .45 on a daily basis.

38 Special. I select only +P loads that have a well proven record of performance. Right now it is Speer's 135 gr Gold Dot load.

I need to buy a box of Remington 158 +p SWC HP to see how they load with Safariland speedloaders. They might because their shoulder does not seem as pronounced as what is in my practice ammo.

The problem lies in the fact that my practice bullets (Oregon Trail Laser Cast 158 gr SWC) have too sharp a shoulder and bind Safariland speedloaders when trying to reload. HKS speedloaders apparently have a slightly smaller diameter drum and work with them. But I prefer Safarilands much more, so I will switch to round nose or conical flat nose bullets from the same maker.

Not to say I do not use others (I definitely do use several of the other choices listed, as dress dictated by the weather, etc., dictates); but I voted .45. I do consider it to be the best available choice, all other things being equal. OMO, of course.
