Yeah you can have them at home and take them to the range. Don't get caught carrying them or a gun outside of these two places. Still trying to figure how they classify NJ as a may issue state, and I live here. LOL

There are certain types of shotgun ammo that is forbidden: IE: Flechettes and bolos. But nothing about handguns that I have read or heard about.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

Actually, armor-peircing handgun ammo is also prohibited.

Explosive projectiles and "dragons breath" shotgun shells are also prohibited.

Rife range coaches, or the primary marksmanship instructors, are in no position to know more about gun laws than any other person. Most of them do not own weapons since they cannot be kept in the barracks. The guns they are familiar with are limited to those that are issued to Marines.

As someone that wore the pith helmet (sign of shooting instrucor in USMC) i can tell you that there are few I would ask any question of unless it was dealing with applying marksmanship principles to punch holes in paper on a non-dynamic range.

Well, I live in Miami but that's far from the progun hub of the state. I suspect that had this situation even peeked out from some liberal RAT-HOLE the likes of the Unified Sportsmen of Florida led by past NRA President Marion Hammer would have UNLEASHED HELL (if I might quote from the movie Gladiator) by now. Marion Hammer is the primary author of our current CCW laws....and the driving force behind all progun forces in this state. Yup! I was at a summit in Orlando a few years back and was having some nice off the record conversation with some of the Governors appointees. We were chatting about this and that, mostly about public land issues. One of the guys was running off a list of people who are influential in certain areas of gov't. He said, when he wants to know something about guns or gun issues, he goes to Marion Hammer.

Considering that I bought .40 ammunition, including hollow-point, as recently as 4/26/07, I'd say that this guy was full of

Really, I can't for my life figure out why someone would spew such obviously false garbage (and why on earth would .40 be singled-out? ). When you relay such nonsense to others, and they can verify that it's untrue, you utterly lose your credibility.

I would hesitate to believe anything further you ever hear from this guy, if I were you.

That can vary by state. Some states prohibit ALL AP ammo, regardless of caliber or type of firearm it would be used in.

I believe AP handgun ammo is banned, or was? Hear about it occasionally regarding the FN Five-Seven.
