    Ammo for Sig P 225

I need suggestions for ammo selection for the Sig 225.

I have recived great info for my BHP and G19 but this Sig has a aluminum reciver and I could use some input.

    +P or +P+, OK?

    I use Remington Golden Saber.

That is what I am now issued as the Sheriff Dept. It is accurate and seems to work well.

The aluminum frame on the Sig should not be a problem, it will take any ammo out there.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

IIRC all 9mm Sigs are made for 9mm NATO spec ammo. Unfortunately as I understand it NATO was never really big on making a spec for 9mm I believe NATO ammo usually runs up to about 10% higher presure than SAAMI spec. As a basic rule they should be fine with as much +P as you want to feed them as long as you make sure your recoil spring is up to snuff. If you want to go +P+ I would recommend getting an extra power spring from Wolff. Even then I would limit +P+ to function testing and carry.

IMHO one of the finest and most dependable loads for the 9mm is the 124gr +P Gold Dot. Your Sig should handle then fine. If youd rather not use +P the standard version of this round is great also.

Winchester Ranger would be a great choice; either the RA9124TP (124 grain +P) or the RA9T (147 grain standard pressure).
