From past experience with shotshells in 38 and 44 - I rather doubt you are gonna save many dB's!! Even the humble .22LR shotshell is loud enough to be well heard - IMO.
Hard to carry out the ''nutralization'' by firearm and keep all that quiet.
Is it a bad snake?
Good snakes kill pests.
That reminds me - in a single action revo - Aguila ''Super Collibri'' are very handy - just a pop. But of course, single projectile needs a good aim ........ but if you get some try em out so as to know where they shoot.
That said - a pellet rifle is another excellent option!

If it's not poisonous it'll keep the rodents away, if it is a long handled shovel is quick silent and effective when applied edge first behind the head!
Why kill the snake? If you must for some reason, just use the shovel idea, a knife pellet gun etc.
That snake dosn't bother me, but im worried about my dog, Louie. He's 15lbs of fury, but no match for a big freaking snake. I guess ill go oldschool and get my baseball ball bat out. Thanks guys
He must have been lucky to have stepped on or right near its head. I can't have these hanging around the yard; the neighbors' children were with mine when they found the snake.
My neighbors understand.

This was 1 shot of .44 Speer shotshell. I imagine the .45 would give similar results.
Wow metal jacket, those things did the job quite well!!!
Good shot too.
nice shot...
my Dad just shot a diamond back with his Glock 19...
those federal HP's make a nice mess of things as well.
(hmmm, I wonder 9mm shot shells?)
