I'm partial to the Remington Golden Saber myself, a bit of heavier slug at 102Gr.
I've used Speer GD's and Fed. Hydra Shocks in the past and had zero issues in my Bersa.

I bought a new Bersa Thunder 380 and will be running it through its paces soon with a couple different kinds of ammo for defensive carry - assuming they all function fine - what do you all reccommend?
Speer Gold Dot 90gr
Corbon 90 gr HP?
Hornady XTP 90 gr?
Corbon DPX 80 gr?
or regular plain jane FMJ?
I've got 2 of the Bersa's and I like the Golden Sabre's also, very accurate and function is perfect, Recently I finally found a box of Ranger T's in 380 and will be giving them a try also.
Gun Control: What a long strange trip it's been
Use one with good expansion characteristics along with good penetration (heavier bullet). stay away from FMJ rounds for self defense.
Currently I have Federals in my PPK, any that have been listed should serve you well. Remember though the .380 is marginal as a fight stopper.
"The first rule of a gun fight is to have a gun."
A .380 in the hand is much better than a .45 in the gun safe!
After working on about a dozen .380 killings, I'm convinced that .380 FMJ penetrates adequately. On the other hand, I have real concerns with .380 hollowpoints' ability to penetrate to "the good stuff."
A low-mass bullet at low speeds with a braking mechanism (the hollowpoint) built in? Not for me. I use the hottest ball that I can find. As chrono'd from my P232, that's Magtech's 95-gr load.
102gr Gold Saber, first choice. Hydra Shok, second choice.
I use FMJ as well, albeit with a flatpoint. Currently I'm loaded with Winchester's WinClean. This former Communist Bloc Walther PPK clone hasn't complained about it yet. Though I can't get it to bobble on any HP either, I believe the best compromise is the flat point.
My only other choice would be the 102gr GS because I believe it has the mass to get the job done.
I use DPX in my .380s. In the test I've seen they go the deepest and open all the time.
I carry one mag of Hydro-Soks loaded and a spare of FMJ
A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.
The DPX is what I carry in my Thunder 380cc. The stats Ive seen on it have been impressive. We all know real world results can vary widely from tests, but I like this stuff, and it seems to recoil less than the golden sabers I used to carry in it.
I use Corbons 90 grain HP, they shoot well.
You'll like the Bersa, I've had my thunder dual tone for about 3 yrs, only complaint is that its not a bigger caliber but..they do make a 45 too..
