cheap ammo

im looking for the cheapest 9mm luger i can find (as long as it wont distroy my gun). also how much damage does steel casing do to the extractor pin? Im looking just for some cheap stuff to throw down range. doesnt have to be great to terribly clean. Will the damage / cost of replacing extractor pin compared to brass, be more then what i save getting steal? i shoot at least 100 rounds down range a week if not more and im a poor collage kid. i think once school starts and i dont have much of a pay check anymore this fall, im going to be going less 'bang' and more 'click'.

Alot of folks will tell you to stay away from wolf ammo but I am not one of them.If it allows me to hoot more often then I will use it!I have used it for years with no damage to any of my firearms so
either I have good taste in selecting good brands or glocks are built
to take it!

Look for Dick's to put it on sale and buy it by the case it is usually 6.98 a box of 50 that way. It' Remmy UMC which seems to be good practice ammo for me, I shoot it in 9MM, 40 and 45ACP never had any probs in well over 10,000 rds.

Wal-mart Winchester WHite box is $15.72 for 100 rounds. Most times you can't even beat that price with wolf if you include shipping.
I like my solvent and my lubricant for my guns to rhyme, so I use Gasoline and Vasoline.

You just have tio constantly check around the various web sites (ammoman, sportsmansguide, etc). And, are you looking for a box, or a case. You can always get a better deal buying in bulk. Bass Pro Shops will run decent sales from time to time. As far as Wolf, my only criticism is that it's the dirtiest ammo that I've used. And, my XD 45 won't feed it. But, my 9mm guns will, so I'll use it from time to time, and make sure that the gun is well cleaned afterward. So, just keep shopping around.

Also - even if for the humble 9mm - do consider reloading.
As time goes on I'll bet we see little or no price drops - probably more increases and for me now - I have gotten back to reloading 9mm - practice stuff with cast bullets.
Keep and collect all the brass you can - it may well be handy!

+1 for reloading.
I can shoot .45 ACP for $5/box, .44 Magnum for $7/box. Storebought would cost me $15 and $25 at least.

I was using wwb from walmart for my 9mm. Recently my local walmart discontinued handgun ammo. Guess I will have to look for another outlet.

Is the Walmart "whitebox" Winchester ammo any good? I was buying my 9mm ammo at the gun shop for $12+ /box of 50 when I realized that Walmart had 100 rd boxes of 9mm for $15.

For normal range sessions I generally go through about 150 rounds or so of white box winchester 9 mm (I buy the 100 round boxes also). My G19 simply isn't bothered by it. At the price it sells for my thought is that it's tough to beat. Every once in awhile I find a good price on some range ammo by magtech that isn't bad. If you can get it, the wolf stuff isn't bad and even less expensive, but midway sells out of it alot.
At least once per year I cycle through my EDC ammo (Speer Gold Dot 124 gr. JHPs) as it's replaced. I've actually thought before that I should do it even more often. I honestly don't know if that's often enough or not.

Dicks has 9MM for 6.98 box of 50 if you buy a case (10 boxes) this coming week. It's Remmy UMC

ammo prices up
I have been shooting the Winchester white box (100rd) in my .45 for the last 3 months, and have watched the price go up 5 bucks a box in that time. Gotta get a Dillon.
