I've always liked it as target/practice ammo...it works well and the price is right.

I use S&B 12ga. Buckshot in my Remington 870, too...

S&B is good stuff, I use it all the time for practice and training. I have yet to have an issue with any of it over thousands of rounds. buy with confidance.

Never had a problem with it. Favorably priced compared to WWB bargain stuff, but I've gotten two undersized rims with the WWB thus far in the past year or so. Spotty quality control.

I've not had any such issues with S&B, and it generally shoots cleanly.

    S&B

I did some tests a while ago soaking ammo in WD40, Hoppes #9, and salt water. Some for over a month. These are sealed so well, none had any problem. Good choice for stockpile ammuniton.

I use S&B 9mm Makarov all the time for practice ammo (thousands of rounds). Never an issue with quality so far.

    Good stuff

I get better accuracy in both my Glock and my Sig with the S&B stuff than I do with something like WWB.

My Taurus PT92 absolutely hates S&B. Interesting enough it has no problems if I reuse the brass for my reloads. I had a Cougar 45 that ate them like they were skittles.

    Employee discount

I shoot LOTS of S&B because our sister company sells it and I get an employee discount, but I have few complaints...except that the .40 caliber stuff is all snubnose, and I'm sure that my preference to something else is purely psychological. Does anyone else think a flat nose on a bullet shouldn't be as aerodynamic? O'course, at 15 yds. or less, who cares, right? It'll do.

Incidentally, S&B is some of the ONLY ammo I can find for my AR15 that isn't Wolf or reloads. I just picked up 1000 rds., delivered for $318. Also, the green tip stuff is supercool, because it'll go thru 1\4" plate steel.

Back to handgun related topics, S&B .45 ACP is better IMHO than Winchy Wite Box...MY Taurus 1911 gobbles 'em up like Pez. Miggy...could the problem be related to your magazines? I hadda' bail on the ones that Taurus included with the purchase, went to Wilsons and I haven't looked back. I won't trash the manufacturer of the other mags because they work FINE in my Rock Island Armory 1911. This is, perhaps, the first ***** in my Taurus' armor, but like I said, it works flawlessly with Wilson mags. Lemme' know what you think.

Good ammo, good price. Why do I feel like I should make up a jingle?

    Miggy,

Pm me about your Taurus. I have a few ideas as to what may be causing the problems. I'm taking it you have failure to eject...?

Once in a Blue Moon stovepipes.....But since I shoot my reloads at IDPA matches it is not an issue anymore. I did forget to say that I tested some leftovers on my FNP-9 and they worked fine too.

I aint complaining about buying my 7.62x39 at $170 per K anymore.

    Alrighty...

Your Taurus likely has a rough chamber is all, and S&B doesn't have the strongest recoil impulse. I had the same experience with WWB, and I was concerned because I felt that if it could happen with that stuff, it could happen with defensive ammunition.

Unless they've changed it, the Taurus 92 isn't guaranteed to function correctly with anything but hardball 124gr @ 1230fps, and they sometimes need work, especially the older, pre-decock models that I love so much.

But, if you're not worried about it, I won't either.

    Have a good one.
