New Hornady Ammo
I just read an article in the most recent Guns & Ammo about a new ammo from Hornady called T.A.P. (Tactical Application Police) F.P.D. (For Personal Defense) and it has been created with folks like US in mind! It's now available in several calibers: .308, .223, 9mm, .40 and .45ACP. Designed to be low recoil and low flash yet with a bullet that never fails to expand (a la the XTP design) it would seem to be ideal. Further there is a flashy new casing that seems to have a specific purpose beyond that it looks really KEWL and is a great advertising "hook." This is a special black nickel plating that seems to aid in feeding thus increasing reliability and I'm all for that. I'm leaving for the trip to Texas on or about the end of June and there is a gun show in town just prior to that. I intend to pick up some of the 155gr .40's for the trip and I'll let you know how I like them. Of course I hafta buy enough to test fire before I entrust my life and the lives of my family to them! I plan on buying the new SA SOCOM 16 .308 and it seems this would be an ideal cartridge for that weapon in reduced recoil for faster followups as well as reduced flash at night or in low light situations. If anybody has experience with this new critter or knows anything more I'd love to hear....

I was wondering how pricey but - seems when compared with other ''specials'' it is maybe not too bad (relative term!). This is the 9mm 124 offering - - -

Very interesting and would like to see some practical results. Wonder if Ammolab will deal with it.
