    Another self defense ammo poll

Which brand do you prefer? I just picked up a box of 40 Hornady Taps and I am trying to decide to use carry my gold dots, taps, or dpx's.. In both my Sig 239 and glock 23. Is there really that much of a difference if I need to whack a bg? Any input? Thanks!

For all practical purposes, no, there isn't.

Carry the ammo that functions best in your pistols.

what's more important is knowing the round we carry will hit where we aim

I've found a lot that works in my pistolas...but from your list...the G-
Dots and the H-shocks have served me well! OMO

I really like the consistency of Federal ammo along with the low flash
    signature.

I think the expansion of the DPX is very impressive but I cant afford to fill up my fleet with them. Also, they tend to corrode fast....discolor and bluish color.... although tarnish shouldn't affect a bullet rite?

I like the Corbon DPX because of how it does against "Intermediate Barriers".

It can however be hard to find and I think you are well served with any well made high quality ammunition.

I have some DPX but haven't tried them yet. I like the gold dot from the tests I've seen. Seems to hold together better in terminal tests than Hydras.

Also, I've developed a certain confidence with the GDHP so that's what I'm currently carrying (in 357 mag).

The performance of a single brand can vary greatly in different calibers. You can't just go with a certain name brand. It's not that simple.

Performance can, and will, vary. That said, I feed Federal to all my carry guns. I just feel comfortable with my perceived reliability of Federal ammo.

I have never had a problem with the brand. Of course, I haven't shot near as much of the other brands.

Usually have Tap or Hydrashoks. I'm very interested in DPX, but it's more or less impossible to find unless you order online around here. Just not really cost effective I guess.

Besides Hydra Shock, I have no SD shooting data- they all feed in my 1911's. I realize this is of no help to you- Good Luck!
