    Remington UMC ammo Problems?

I thought I've seen some criticism of the ammo, but I can't seem to find it. I apologize if this is a repeat question. I'll take a link to a previous thread if it's out there.

I just bought a case of this stuff because it was cheap at Dicks. I've always used WWB or premium rounds. Has anyone had problems with it? Burning dirty or corrosive powder or squibs? Anything else? My XD is my 3rd child and like the other kids, I'll feed em fast food once in a while but I don't wan't to poison them

I have two XDs. I have shot between the two about 4,000 rounds of UMC through them in the last 1 1/2 years. Until I started reloading. Now I only use UMC for the firearms classes that I take because the instuctors want no reloads being used for the class. Check around for $10 off coupons for Dick's, it makes it even cheaper. So I can say %100 of the rounds shot worked perfect.

    UMC

I allways considered UMC the best of the cheap stuff among WWB and American Eagle (Federal). I have a case of their 9mm stockpiled, as well as a bunch of .30-06 and some .223 sp I got on sale a while ago. It's all non corrosive and so far it's all fired.

I've used UMC quite a bit. It's cheap and it functions great. The only fault I have with it is that it doesn't group very well out of any of my firearms.

UMC is good slightly better than WWB and American Eagle IMO.

It seems just a little cleaner than the others to me.

Its almost bottom of the barrel stuff, put its not bad at all for range use. Once in a blue moon, a bad batch is put out and some people cry about how bad the stuff is. It isnt the best, but its certainly not the worst.

I used to have a FM Hi-Power that hated the UMC rounds. About every third round or so it would FTE. The gun had no problems with WWB. Every other gun I have put UMC into has done just fine though. The gunsmith I was using at the time said that occasionally people run into bad pairings like that. Don't know if he is correct but the answer was good enough for me at the time.

I've never had a problem with any UMC ammo, although I must admit I haven't shot much of it in a while. WWB and American Eagle has been a better buy for me lately. I've never had a problem with any of it though.

Mixed for me, My Para CCO doesn't like it at all, but my RIA eats it no problem...........I tend to use the WWB most, but that's mainly because it's almost always cheaper around me (though only by about a $0.50-$1.00 a box) and is also the most readily available.

I also like Blazer Brass which a semi-local shop seems to have on sale every few weeks, and I've had zero problems with it as well.

Remington UMC is what I use for "range" rounds, for my pistols. All seem to cycle it just fine. Sure, it's not as clean as my carry rounds (DoubleTap 9mm JHP +P), but it works well.

I've shot 1k+ of UMC 9mm with no problems what so ever through my 2 XD's. Just bought another case from Dicks yesterday for $70. As ccw9mm said, Its "range ammo".
