Need help... where to buy ammo.
Need a little help here. I've got a training class coming up and I need to buy about 3000 rounds of .45 ACP. My usual internet sources seem to be dried up (cheaperthandirt.com, midway) I'm looking for some 230 grain FMJ target ammo (I prefer Winchester "White Box" or Federal American brand, but I guess any reliable ammo will do) Anyone got any good sources? Thanks in advance.

I've also had good luck ordering from ammoman.com.

Ditto for WalMart, although my local store never has more than about 400 rounds stocked unless you get there during the week. I asked the guy one time and he said he would order me as many as I wanted.

I've had some very good luck with the Sportsman's Guide at least for "carry" and "specialty" ammo. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/brows...?c=95&p=s&bt=N

try outdoormarksman.com. the shipping can be steep at times. just depends on their specials. another one that's good sometimes is (i think) the-armory.com.

Thanks!
I cleaned my local Wal-Mart out of WWB, (they only had 300 rounds). So I'll try ammoman. THANKS A LOT!
I should have started this process a little sooner... its a 2-day class on July 7th and 8th and I'm supposed to bring a MINIMUM of 2000 rounds. I'm thinking my hands may be a little sore after this one!

Natchez
I have had good luck with CCI Blazer aluminum case 230 gr FMJ. I buy it from Natchez for $140 per 1000 rounds.
Good luck.
On edit: Apparently, the "special" ended. It is now $158 per 1000. Still a good deal in my book.

Try www.natchezss.com, that's Natchez Shooter Supplies. I've found some good bargins equal to Wally World even with shipping. I avoid WW like the plague if I can.

I was looking at Wolf and Sellier & Bellot at Cabelas for a volume purchase, but then decided to check Wal Mart. Wally Worlds' price on WWB was even better than what I found Wolf or Sellier & Bellot in volume.
Unfortunately, I now have something to visit Wal Mart for...

I found out the HARD way, avoid these two brands like the BLACK DEATH! It's cheap for a reason. QC on the Wolf is spotty at best and the ammo seems to be underpowered. I had a lot of FTE's with this stuff and it was the ammo not the gun. S & B is incredibly dirty to shoot and will gum things up FAST. OTOH, I understand the queasiness generated by a trip to WW.

I should know better. I've fired untold thousands of shotshells on the skeet and 5 stand ranges, and ONLY use Winchester AA because I don't want to clean the weapon every time I shoot. I've NEVER had a misfire with factory loaded AA shells. I should be happy to dance with the one that brung me and stick to Winchester for volume training purposes. I carry Federal Hydrashocks for the defensive load.
