    How about a reloading subforum?

In the past few days I've read a number of reloading related threads, mainly how to get started, is it worth it, etc. Along the lines of Ammo and Ballistics, would it be too much to have a subforum in DA&B for reloading? Seems enough of us do it. Thoughts?

Sounds good to me...but I aint the Boss. The same questions are asked over and over and over...

It has been asked before IIRC but Bumper had not wanted to greatly extend the numbers of sub forums. I'll let him make a comment on this himself.

I'd also like to see a separate section for reloading.

A reloading sub forum would stray too far from concealed carry discussions.

The banner at the top says it all, see reloading is not included.

Glembe, if that's the case I can make a new banner :p (I'm great with GPHX)

But I've got to +1 this, assuming they will be looking to see who supports it. I have no other decent alternative for ammo on my rifle, and I would REALLY like to see who else out there reloads...possibly in the same cal.

Granted these forums are based on concealed carry - the members here I have found (which is why I've since abandoned other forums...) have great knowledge on all things firearm. Every question I've posted has gotten answered...and then some.

I would enjoy a reloading forum also. It appears to me that most of us not only are CCW holders but shooters as well. Ideas and information are better if shared and criticised by those that will make use of the information gleaned.

During my short time here there has been more than enough stray for several more sub forums to be created. At least with a sub forum, it will all be in one area (at least for reloading) instead of spread over several areas.

I do believe that it would fall under the training aspect of the banner. The more you get to shoot the better you should be. The less time you spend trying to figure out what to do with a loader or what load to use the more time to make bullets and therefore, more training or shooting time.

I wouldn't mind seeing it. I think it would be a benefit to all.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

So if we are only allowed to discuss those that are in the banner, then Off Topic, BF's Place, the Buy/Sell/Trade, and Meeting Place subforums should then be removed. Oh, there are exceptions now. See?

So if ammunition and ballistics are not on the banner, then that forum should be eliminated too.

I guess the idea of reloading for defensive carry, or target shooting to improve your skills with your concealed carry weapon are way too far away from the idea of defensive carrying.... I'm not too sure, but I think I see a connection!!!

I believe I've seen a "Reloading" sub forum in a number of other forums (SIGForum, Glock Talk, and a few small local forums), so I guess it's not too much of a stretch.

i feel it would be a good section. if one knows how to reload, he will shoot more, and by shooting more he will be better with his weapon. this is a good thing. more ammo on hand; the more you will shoot; with more improvement of your skills.

Well, guys, if you really want a reloading forum, nit-picking the DefensiveCarry banner is not going to help your case.

Like Chris said, it would be Bumper's decision. Might I suggest that those who are strongly in favor of a reloading forum come up with some constructive ideas?

For the record, I'm not opposed to it, with one caveat: No load data could be posted in the proposed forum unless it was tested and verified data published in a reputable loading manual, and so cited.
