I have a Kahr P9 that is rated at a +P round. Can someone give me a reccomendation for a personal defense +P round?
This is a discussion on +P within the Defensive Ammunition & Ballistics forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I have a Kahr P9 that is rated at a +P round. Can someone give me a reccomendation for a personal defense +P round?...

I choose 124 GD's +P for my 226 SIG - and I'd still consider them even in a shorter barrel. There is tho a large choice out there.

Thanks for the assist. I have recieved so many valuable insights here that I felt it was the least I could do. Again, thank you.
Yes sir... CorBon DPX! It's outstanding.

One thing to check out before buying a huge number of your +P rounds is do they print to the same point as your practice or non+P ammo. If not, you'd better find a combo of cheap practice ammo and good defensive +Ps that do.
Probably both rounds in the same weight will print close enough to the same point as to not be a problem, but I'd want to know for sure before spending a bundle on expensive +Ps.

That's what I carry in my 9c.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
I practice at the range with Winchester white box. How much of a difference is the recoil between that and +P? My personal def rounds at present are Hornady jhp/xtp 124 gr.
I liked the Gold Dots out of my 3913. I would also try the new Hornady TAP. i have heard goo dthings from my friends.

They were designed with the 124G +p round assumed (NYPD approved backup, off duty ).
Very good weapon.
I like Remington's Golden Saber 124 gr.+P. I also like the 124 gr. standard Golden Sabers. (There isn't a whole lot of ballistic difference between them). Both print to very similar points of aim from my K9. Choices listed above are certainly primo stuff, too.
I like the 115 gr. +P Corbon in my Sig 226 that's stashed inside of my home for defense purposes.
