I have switched to the FED HST in 147gr for my carry guns (Glock26, Kahr PM9 and Glock19). Here is a post from another thread (*you would be served well if you read the whole thread I took this from) that lists the best loads for PD.

TEST RESULTS:
Round # 1:
Penetration: 14.00"
Recovered Weight: 123.0 gr.
Expansion*: .690 cal.

I really like the Corbon DPX in my service XD-9, but that said it is expensive stuff and I cringe if I shoot it for practice.
Try Double Tap ammo for some Speer Gold Dot loads at pricing you can at least practice with.
