I need input on S.D. ammo for the Glock G20 (fullsize). There's not any here in Hillbillyville, even at walfart, so I'll have to mail order. I'm stuck in a tax office until May, after that, I'll handload. Please advise, Thanks.

Low velocity try Federal Hydrashock 180gr.
Normal velocity try Cor-Bon DPX 155gr.
A guy I work with swears by Cor-Bon.

DoubleTap makes some of the best 10mm ammo (and other calibers as well) out there. You can google DoubleTap and order direct from Mike Mcnett's website. Usually takes about 5 business days to get from there to Arkansas.
+1 for DoubleTap - I haven't used his stuff for 10mm (don't have one yet) but the .45 ACP I got was hot and accurate. www.doubletapammo.com

All my 10mm carry ammo is DoubleTap. Great performing, modern designs, high quality and reasonably priced. Mike is a great guy.
check out www.10mmtalk.com for the entire section on DoubleTap complete with ballistics and test results.
yeah, doubletap was originally organized just to make the 10mm round. I'm sure they have it down pat by this time.
Thanks, I think that takes care of the issue. please close thread.

Most of the 10mm you find from Federal/Remington don't mimick the true aspect of the 10mm. If you want the true design of the TEN cartridge you either have to make your self (not Suitable for Self Defense) or go with Double Tap. I know Corbon makes some pretty good stuff to however, I personaly can't speak intelligently on their ammo. Most people go with the 10mm because of the addition of veloicty equaling higher energy in the end when consider mass.
I used to be into the 10mm with my G29 and my Delta's then when I looked at it and found out that that .40 SW is very similiar to some of the lighter 10 loads that the big manufactures are putting out.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 10mm DW Bobtail Commander. What is the best DoubleTap ammo to get? I see many choices on their site. Those great prices will sure make shooting the 10 less painful ($$). I'm looking for mostly range but some carry duty ammo.
Thanks for any advice.
I would call and ask what they recommend. The practice ammo they have that is 180 grain is going 50 fps slower than the HP, so point of impact will likely be off. I've heard good things about the owner - haven't talked to him personally. I imagine he knows loads that have POA/POI for your gun. If not, he'll still tell you something.

50 fps on something going over 1200 fps is pretty negligible when it comes to a handgun and the practice ammo likely has better aerodynamics to off set that.
Personally what I love about the 10mm is the versatility. I carry a mag of 135grain Nosler JHPs in mine. It is essentially the same as a 357 magnun at that mass and velocity. The back up mags are Mike's 200grain XTP hollowpoints because you never know when a 300# tiger may be on the loose.
If I went with only one it would be either the 165 or 180 grain Gold Dots.
Wasn't the 10mm originally designed for 180gr. bullets?
Great people to deal with. They make the best "real" 10mm ammo and the owner is very smart and good to deal with. I started carrying my 10mm (revolver) when I had a hand injury so I got the lower recoiling135gr stuff. I plan on using the 165gr Gold Saber, though.
Have you started reloading yet?
Try the "Equalizer" from DT.
Maybe too gimmicky for some of the traditionalists here, but it's kewl.
Just like McNett says, the 95-grainer does, in fact, hit about an inch above the 135-er.

I wouldn't feel particularly undergunned with the Winchester 175 gr. Silvertips either. mike
