Gold Dot 135 Grain +p or Cor-Bon DPX 110 Grain +p.
Those are the best available at present.

That is good ammo.
The seal on bullets will survive a trip through the washing machine & the dryer...
That wasn't intentional, but it was good that they made in through.
My only issue with the 110 Grain Hydrashock is that it is tested in 4 inch guns, not snubbies.

I like the Federal 158grn LSWCHP +P personally. There are many who beleive it to be outdated. But I like it. I have also carried the Hydra-Shok's as well. Best of luck!

Speer Got Dot 135+P. Here's a great article. At the end it gets into the meat & potatoes of it. It was designed for the snubby. I got mine for my SW442 @ Midway USA.

I used to carry the 158 LSWHP but I've been using the 135 GD lately. It shoots very well from my Smith and I can find it easier. A couple years ago, I shot the 129 Hydrashock into bare water. None of them expanded at all. Does the 110 do better?

i'm getting addicted to powerball! Just so high tech and i'm slowly changing all my defensive rounds to it. Expensive, but from research i've seen, worth it.

I'm firmly in the +P 158 grain SWC camp. Hollow point or not it's the best choice for use in any .38 Special in my view. The Model 642 exhibits brisk recoil but is managable and the load is hard hitting, cuts a nice hole, and offers deep penetration.

158 grn LSWCHP +p or 135 grn GDHP +p for me.

IMO, you can't pass on a round that was designed for a specific gun.
