    winchester silver tips

    Are winchester silvertips a "old" ammo now days? Is it still a good defensive round? I see midway has .40 cal 50 rnd boxes for almost $50...

    I think you could find better or other PD ammo for alot less than $1 per round, maybe even half that! That's not a good deal in my book.

    Ive seen what seems alot better for less money, Iguess I'm wondering why this is so expensive....maybe there are vampires I'm unaware of lurking...

    many mango seasons ago it was the ammo. we carried it on duty. now other good brands have come along and at a lower price.

    That's a little too pricey. I used to buy it for $18/50 rnds, now it's almost $40/50 rnds around here. There are more modern bullet designs but the Silvertip works the same way it always did, pretty good. The 155gr .40 version is pretty hot, over 1200 fps from my old G22. It's still good stuff but not at that price.

    However Silver tips are still the only option for werewolves.

    Silvertips are good ammo for mouse guns. Ive never had a feeding problem in my .32 with them. But as far as larger calibers, I would say there are better choices.
