DP 10mm, what are you guys shooting?

I'm picking up either a G20 or G29 soon and wanted to grab a case or two of Doubletap ammo before prices go up even more. Use will be primarily range and SD/HD. I still might pick-up a variety pack but thought there may be some good advice out there to avoid getting loads that won't be best for my $$/use.

    Thanks for any input.

    DT

I'm totally happy with their 135gr JHP in my 610 revolver.

    Thanks Superhouse 15,

Here's a good link for ballistics I just found:
Here are official gelatin results for all of the DoubleTap loads! - Glock Talk

The 135g JHPs look like the safe play for over penetration. The Gold Dot 155/165/180g loads look good. The 165g is expanding over 1"! Maybe a little too much penetration but dang, that should stop the bad guy. Is the 180g a good compromise?

From the DT website, the 500 rounds of 180g FMJ Match ammo for $234 also look good for range duty.

    Hmmm.

I don't have a 10 but I would pick up one box of ammo and try it before investing in a case of any ammo you want to try. You may find you have feeding or accuracy issues.

Yeah, I'm wondering if anyone else out there has a G20 and could offer some input on what is reliable for them? I have to stock up before the Democrats take over. Right now, I'm leaning towards those Gold Dot 165g loads. You can't beat 1" expansion and the velocity and penetration look good. Again, the ballistics on the 155/180g Gold Dots are impressive as well. Hmmm.

I have a G20, and true to every other Glock I have owned it just eats what I feed it and burps out the casings. I wouldn't worry about it being too finicky on which ammo it will eat.

    Thanks for the input everyone,

I just ordered a case (500rds) of Speer Gold Dot 165g from DoubleTap. I like the overall ballistics from a G20 in the link that I posted. Gotta start somewhere. I figure over a 1" hole is a good place to start.

Probably should have got another case for the free shipping. Now I just need some good night sights and a holster.

    Thanks again.

Well, I'm posting after your decision- but here it is.

I use the 165gr Golden Sabres. The Gold Dot that you mention is an excelent round and I use those in my .40cal.

I want to get the 200gr WFNGC Bear tooth for wilderness carry. I hike & camp in the same area that we bear and boar hunt, so I want a round appropriate. Durring the season walking around with a 30/30 is fine but in the spring & summer months I dont want to encounter a game warden and try to explain.

    10MM DT Ammo

Found that my S&W 610 loved any DT loading and shot all of them with great accuracy. If your planning on using the 10 vs BGs or creatures I'd stick to the heavier bullets(180s or 200s)w/ JHPs

I like Georgia Arms for quality and cheap ammo. I get this at gun shows in Richmond, Va and think their prices are very competative and I've never had a problem with any. Check out their prices on all ammo. good deal especially when you don't have to pay shipping. My Glock 20 shoots anything like others have said. Great Gun. They also ship. Click on link below

1000 rounds for $285 At Georgia Arms. for 180 gr. good deal. and the 155gr. gold dot at 1375fps for less than $20 for 50 rounds I think is the deal. That should stop the bad guy.
